Minutesxchange support full range of hardware products that improve the quality and ease of use of the Internet Telephony calling experience. Solutions exist for dial-up, broadband, single, and multiple user environments.

IP PHONE

An IP phone uses Voice over IP technologies allowing telephone calls to be made over an IP network such as the internet instead of the ordinary PSTN system. Calls can traverse the Internet, or a private IP Network such as a that of a company.

The phones use protocols such as Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), Skinny Client Control Protocol or one of various proprietary protocols such as that used by Skype. IP phones can be simple software-based Softphones or purpose-built hardware devices that appear much like an ordinary telephone or cordless phone which allows to reuse ordinary PSTN phones.

One of the primary motivations for implementing such a system is the lower calling cost. When calling other IP phones over the internet one only pays for the usually fixed cost internet bandwidth.

ATA
The most common analogue terminal adapter is a device with at least one telephone jack (FXS port) used to connect a conventional telephone and an ethernet jack used to connect the adapter to the LAN. Using such an ATA it is possible to connect a conventional telephone to a remote VoIP server. The ATA communicates with the remote VoIP server using a VoIP protocol such as H.323, SIP, MGCP or IAX and encodes and decodes the voice signal using a voice codec such as ulaw, alaw, gsm, ILBC and others. Since ATAs communicate directly with a VoIP server, they do not require any software to be run on a personal computer, such as a softphone.

IF YOU WANT TO SAVE ON CALLS OR HAVE A CYBER CALLING CENTER this is the way to start with a low-priced gateway that provides 2 analog ports for two simultaneous calls. Just PLUG AND CALL to any broadband connection. It is NAT ready so it does not matter whether you use DHCP NAT control LAN environment.
